Karim Sedad has been practicing general criminal law and business criminal law since 2016.
He assists both individuals and companies, advising and representing them before French-speaking criminal, civil, and commercial courts, as well as before various administrative authorities.

He holds two Master’s degrees in Law from the Jean Monnet Faculty at the University of Paris-Sud XI (Paris-Saclay). He continued his academic journey in Brussels, obtaining a Master’s degree in Law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and an LLM in Competition Law from the Brussels School of Competition (BSC).
His expertise has also been enriched by experience as a teaching assistant at the Jean Monnet Faculty, where he led tutorials in “Introduction to Civil Law” and “International Relations.”
With several years of experience in business law firms, in-house, and in the non-profit sector, Karim Sedad joined the Brussels Bar in 2016 and co-founded the Akalex law firm in 2019.
He obtained the Criminal Cassation Certificate in 2018, then further strengthened his skills in 2021 with an Interuniversity Certificate in Business Criminal Law (ULB-UCL-ULiège).
Since 2022, he has also been a member of the Paris Bar, allowing him to practice in both Belgium and France and to offer his clients unique cross-border expertise.
Highly involved in the life of the Bar, he served as Treasurer (2020-2023), Vice-President (2024-2025), and then President of the Conference of the Young Bar of Brussels (2024-2025).
Passionate about public speaking, he has distinguished himself in numerous oratory competitions, notably winning second place in the Paris-Montreal Francophonie Prize (2022) and the Conference of Bar Presidents of the OHADA Area Prize at the prestigious international “Mario Stasi” eloquence competition of the Paris Bar.
