An exceptional review procedure remains open upon conviction of an individual by a criminal court, and following exhaustion of all means of redress, through an appeal in cassation to the Supreme Court.

The purpose behind this appeal is to overturn the conviction on grounds of, among others, a formal or procedural flaw, statutory violation or failure to state reasons.

If the appeal is admissible, the case is then retried in strict compliance with the law.

AKALEX’s founding lawyers are all trained in criminal cassation and hold the Certificate allowing them to represent their clients’ interests before the Court of Cassation.

Please do not hesitate to contact them should you gave any questions relating to this procedure.
